The international Intelligent Transportation Systems Worldcongress in 2021 will be hosted in Hamburg, Germany. The current slogan is COS it’s Hamburg – City of Solutions. Hamburg has indeed ITS solutions for logistic and mobility.

Mobility: Hamburg developed several projects and strategies for cleaner and easier mobility. Because Hamburg has no tram, it enhanced some bus lines to BRT equivalent level. After 2020 Hamburgs public transport companies will buy only local emission free buses. Also new bicycle lanes and intelligent traffic lights are implemented. The Hamburger Hochbahn AG, the major public transport company in Hamburg, will build a new subway line and develops projects for new modes of transport. Furthermore there is a MaaS similar project called switchh.

Logistic: The third biggest harbour in Europe is located in the center of Hamburg. The Hamburg port authority developed a Smart Port Strategy with different solutions for efficient and enviromental friendly solutions. For example, an intelligent slot booking system that places the trucks in parking lots in an efficient order.

General: Hamburg is a very liveable and green city. With the rivers Elbe and Alster Hamburg has more bridges than Venice. The newest sightseeing attraction in Hamburg is the Elbphilharmonie. A unique concert hall in the Hafencity, a new business and residential area on a former harbour area. More general information

Promotion Video of BWVI Hamburg

This promotion video was published by the Ministry of Economy, Transport and Innovation (BWVI) in Hamburg on November 1, 2017. It shows some higlights of Hamburg like the harbour, Elbphilharmonie and the citycenter.

Location of congress center and fairground

The congress will be located in the refurbished Congres Center Hamburg (CCH) in the citycenter. The fairground is next to the congress center. The area is located in the northwest of the citycenter. It is easily accesible by bike, bus, subway and train.
